Over the years, the Association "Gender, Peace and Security" has made its achievements thanks to the hard work and donor support:
- In 2001 the first Counseling Center for Women and Girls, in Durres District, was opened. The Counseling Center was opened with the financial support of the NPA (Norwegian People's Aid), providing face-to-face counseling for women and girls, telephone counseling, legal aid etc., a mission that still continues today thanks to the support of the Swedish government (SIDA), the organization KVINNA TILL KVINNA and AWEN (Women's Empowerment Network in Albania).
- In 2001 the USSR also opened the Daily Center for the 100 older adults, a project supported by the Albanian Development Fund and the World Bank. The main services offered were medical services, psychological support and the provision of a free meal.
- In 2004, in Porto Romano, an informal area of the city of Durres, a Community Center "Hope" was opened, with the contribution of the Norwegian Embassy, giving young people and women access to vocational training and courses to empower them more.
- In 2007, within the EU supported COOSLA project, COOSS Marche, the Municipality of Durres and the Regional Directorate of Education, a Community Center for Women and Girls was opened in the informal area of Spitalla. This Community Center has served as an appropriate source of information for young people and women, an opportunity to be informed about various social problems related to them, a facility for psychosocial services for youth groups and women in need, a facility with experience and skills in designing and implementing youth programs, an information and communication structure on reproductive health, AIDS / STDs and drug use.
- In 2008, with the support of the USAID program, the first gender office was opened as part of the Municipality of Durres, the first in Albania, that serve as a model for the opening of other offices of this kind throughout the territory of Albania.
- In 2012-2013, two artisan incubators were established in two tourist villages: in Tushemisht in Pogradec city and in Voskopoja in Korça city. Craft incubators provide income generating opportunities for local women, while preserving the cultural heritage of these areas.
- In 2014, AWSP opened the first Regional Office for Gender Equality as part of the Durres District Institution. The opening of this office is a result of the long-standing work and cooperation of the Association of Women with Social Problems with the Durrës District Council in addressing issues of gender equality and domestic violence.
- In 2015 was implemented the Monitoring Strategy for Gender Equality in Durres Region funded by AWEN / SIDA.
- In November 2017, for the first time the association opened a social business in Tushemisht, a project directly related to youth employment and vocational guidance. The project was funded by SWISS-Contact.
- In September 2018, the albanian government adopted the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. This achievement came thanks to close cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, as well as representatives of local authorities, international partners and the coalition of “Women, Peace and Security" with financial support of the Embassy of the Netherlands, FGE- Gender Equality Fund and UN Women in Albania and OSCE.
